About it
The cover of a book is not just a graphic design job, but it is the first impact a potential reader has with the story and is often the factor that either makes them curious or turns them away. It must communicate the essence of the book without telling the whole story, it must add value and make itself recognisable and readable in every format.
The covers I design are custom-made and take into account the genre, target readership and unique style of each author.
Creative process
Before you can book the service and pay the deposit, I would like to know about your idea, if you have any special requests, preferences and so on, as well as all possible information about your novel. Every detail is important, even what seems insignificant.
Once the bureaucracy is put aside, I will start working for you. I will start a research phase to identify trends, graphics and visual references that are most suitable for your book, and I will provide you with constant updates on progress.
I will edit the draft until you are satisfied, but any significant changes to the final, approved design will cost an additional €20.00.
What do I need from you
To design the cover of your book I need several things, starting with your ideas and continuing with:
- book genre;
- complete and detailed synopsis (no back cover), helping me to understand the main themes, characters, tone and style of the novel;
- target audience, to understand who the book is aimed at (age, gender, where they buy, niches, etc.);
- ideas and inspo (colours, styles, reference images, covers you particularly like). Please note that I am not copying anything and that some of your preferences may conflict with the target audience;
- final format, i.e. final size and number of pages of the file paginated and ready for printing;
- paratext, i.e. title and eventual subtitle, authorx name, eventual tagline, back cover, short author biography, eventual publishing house or personal logos, and in any case all the textual information you want to put on the cover. If you already have it, also the barcode.

At the end of the job you will receive a high-definition .pdf and .jpg file, and the title on a transparent background in .png. A basic mockup for the cover reveal is also included with each customised cover service. If, however, you require more complex graphics, you can find more information here.

N.B. P.S.You will receive the file ready for printing only after you have paid the remaining payment. Once you have received the final file, you will no longer be able to request a refund. If you decide to cancel your booking after you have paid the deposit, half of the deposit will be refunded. There is no refund if you cancel your order after work has started.
